History of Excellence

The Banking and Finance Law Review / Revue de droit bancaire et de finance (BFLR) provides a Canadian-based forum for expert legal analysis of issues facing the financial industry. Founded in 1986, the BFLR is a specialist journal which covers a range of advanced topics in banking and finance law, including bank and customer law, regulation of payments, central counterparties and clearing, bankruptcy and insolvency, secured transactions, securities regulation, and financial technology (Fintech). A publication in the BFLR is a contribution to discussion among leading specialists in financial law.

The Journal

The BFLR is a peer-reviewed journal and publishes three issues per year, with one issue dedicated to the topic of Fintech. Issues are printed in English with article abstracts appearing in both English and French. Each issue consists of Articles, Recent Developments, Case Comments and Book Reviews. Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis and manuscripts must be submitted for the BFLR’s exclusive consideration. Authors are asked to review the Style Guidelines when preparing manuscripts for submission. Manuscripts and queries may be sent to submissions@bflr.ca. Please indicate the type of submission in the subject line of your email (e.g. article, case comment, etc.)
